iPhone SDK Development

I signed up for iPhone SDK Development from the Pragmatic Programmers as soon as the beta PDF was available and of course it was a bit thin at that point. Diving into it again a few months later, and I'm blown away at how far it's come. This is very solid book, even though it's still in Beta.

It does a bit more hand-holding than I typically go for in a tech book, but being new to Apple dev & Xcode, I really appreciate the measured pace in the early parts of the book, going into detail about how to do particular things in Xcode and Interface Builder. The latter chapters go more quickly, assuming you've got that stuff down, which works great.

I've scanned a few other iPhone development books over the last few months and found them all lacking. If you are new to Apple development and looking to get up to speed quickly, this book will do it for you well.

I'm a software engineer enjoying work in both Ruby & Rails and the iPhone platform. I've published a couple of iPhone apps now: Spectrogram and CricketSong, and have a couple more in the pipeline.
